The golden delicious apple has a sweet clean flavour, is high in sugar, and is crisp and juicy when eaten fresh. It has a wonderful aroma. In Australia, it is in season March to January.

Chance seedling from Clay County, West Virginia, USA. First available around 1899.

It is light green in colour, turning golden with an occasional pink flush.
