Orange Cake with Vodka Orange Syrup
This cake is basically a version of the a basic plain cake where the method changes from a creaming to a melt and mix. It tends to be quite soggy so don't think you've done something wrong. It's best served warm with the sauce drizzled on top, and is very rich so keep slices small.
Ingredients
- 1 x Basic Plain Cake (rich orange version)
- Zest of 1 orange soaked in 2 Tbsp vodka
- 2 qty Citrus Sauce
Method
- Make the cake and allow to cool.
- Make the citrus sauce and just before serving, add the vodka soaked zest, and the vodka to the sauce and serve warm over the cake, with a dollop of double cream and ice cream if desired.
