Parisienne Essence
Parisienne Essence
is a
food colouring
(
brown
) without flavour, that is used to colour gravies,
sauces
,
soups
, broths,
cakes
and
puddings
. Because it has no flavour, it can be used for sweet and savoury
recipes
. It comes in 100ml plastic bottles and is manufactured by the
Queen Fine Foods
company in Australia, who also manufacture food colourings,
essences
and
confectionery
ingredients
.
I use it all the time, especially for my
saucepan
gravies which aren't made from the pan drippings of roasts (
fond
). It's also great for making
fruit
cakes
darker.
